  9. If you want an accurate understanding of who Clay Aiken is, the latest news about his career, and coverage of concerts and appearances, this site is the #1 place to visit. A million thanks for all you do for Clay and his fans!

  10. I am a clay fan from Indonesia, thanks for making this site available. Without this site it will be very difficult for me to be updated with all Clay's things. This the only site that I visit every day & everytime if I need some refresh, when I feel bored, tired. This site is like a refreshing glass of water to me.
BTW this site makes my husband 'jealous' lol :). Anybody can convince Clay to have a tour in Asia ? Pleaaaseeeee....

  11. I look at your site every single day to catch the latest Clay news. Sometimes I just get on to remember old times by watching past videos. Sometimes I spend too much time and don't get other things done. It always makes me happy and excited to see new info. Keep up the good work.

  12. FAMILY ATMOSPHERE IS WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS SITE.& OF COURSE JAN IS ONE OF THE BEST MODS AROUND. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

  13. Picked up AAA Trip-Tik for Biltmore this morning. The lady at AAA asked what concert we were going to. When I TOLD her, SHE JUST BEAMED!!!! Said to let her know how it turned out. She knew EXACTLY who Clay & Ruben are!!!!! Made my DAY!!!!

  14. Thank you for the kind words! I am glad that each of you enjoy the site.
I love hearing comments about finding out that others enjoy Clay as much as "we" do. ;-)

  15. Thanks so much for posting Clay's speech at the Key Club Convention in Tennessee. I marvel at how he speaks continuously without notes or prompters. I thought to myself, that's because he believes in what he is doing and is compassionate and sincere about this cause. He spoke with ease and knowledge on the subject. UNICEF is lucky to have him as a spokesman.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Clay looks so cute in the Unicef video. I've always loved his hair long.

  17. Jan, thank you so much for this wonderful site! I check here everyday for the latest on our beautiful Clay!

  18. Moon River, not a fan of the song, but Clay's acapella version....YES! Looking forward to The View on July 13th, Talk Stoop on July 20th, the first clack on July 23rd, and my concert on August llth. Bring it on!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I check here FIRST for news everyday, even before logging on to the OFC...You do a tremendous job keeping this fansite up to date on a daily basis, and I thank you for that!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hi Clay if you wanted a girlfriend so badly all you had to was just ask me

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm not a fan of Moon River either, it is synonymous with Andy Williams to me. But Clay's VOICE when he sings it with no musical accompaniment is so beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  22. anyone going to tour in Lancaster or New York-Manhattan venue? looking for true fan like me and didn't purchase a ticket yet

    ReplyDelete
  23. Have a comment about Clay's appearance as co-host on The View?

    ReplyDelete
  24. True what u said ,Jan. I did make a comment on NCDB board& my opinion on the show was a letdown, because Clay wasn't given any opportunity to "use his voice".I was hoping he would pull a Kelly Ripa on the women ,so he could at least give some input into whatever was being discussed. They really overshadowed him, which in my opinion was distasteful as one of the hosts.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wish Clay spoke more, but I think since Clay's voice was raspy he may have been trying to preserve it since he will be singing to us in 10 more days! EEEEEEEEE!!!!

I LOVE the Clay in Curlers video....a classic....priceless!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I adore this site and have for years. My only issue is that sometimes our "ehthusiasm" for Clay clouds our judgement and ability to quote things accuratly. For instance,a recent autobiography written by one of the fans still claims that Clay is the biggest selling male artist to date to come from AI. This has not been true for a while now. Chris Daughtry is and we should be "big" enough to admit it. All that really matters at the end of the day is how much we still love him and how wonderful he is to us as a person and an idol. Clay will always will be our #1!

Just being honest....Love you forever Clay!!!

PS - I have no doubt we can get him back to the number one spot if we work at it!! Keep buying his CD's. Giving them as gifts is my favorite way. I love to creat new Claymates and Claydawgs!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I check this site every morning and before I go to bed. Thank you for all the information. LOVE CLAY!!!!

  36. My concert is August 11th too. I do love looking at & listening to the clack! I always thought Clay could dance, he just likes surprising us! I remember how he balanced himself on 1 foot with ease when he showed off his "tattoo" on Kimmel . The concert looks to be awesome!!

  37. Holy-moly Jan, The pictures posted in News & Articles taken by Invisible926 leave me speechless. That face....Clay is absolutely beautiful! Surely he has all that is necessary for the big screen and the right film. Hollywood, are you listening? Thank you for posting them, they bring so much joy to me.

  38. I saw Clay in Concert in Jacksonville on july 24th he was absolutly hilarious( at one point I fell out of my seat on to the the isle so hard I laughed) and his music was absolutely dvine.
I was not impressed regarding the Thearte I guess for stand up comedy it's OK bud not for a voice like Clay.the surround sound was missing, his songs were only heard from the stage.I was just glad to see him life. I agree with Carol he belongs on the big sceen. thank you for all the wounderful pictures... Rita Jaxv. Fl.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The pictures taken by Invisible926 absolutely gorgeous!! and i thinking of the beautiful montage made by Luluasst Clay Aiken-Look At That Face.....thank you for posting them. sorry about my English.

  43. I'm listening to my radio at work as I type this and Clay is singing Can't Take My Eyes Off You. Its soooo good to hear him on the radio
and to hear the dj mention TNT.

  44. The Timeless Tour is amazing! We had so much fun last night at Snoqualmie. Clay and Ruben should go on the road....oh, wait. They're already doing that. This is a must see show. Glad they all enjoyed the cool weather we had for them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. We totally enjoyed the kickoff for the timeless tour in Ashville too...just wish it wasnt sooo hot for them since they had on suits... and we thought WE were hot! I took my son, whos 24, to his first concert, he actually said he was pleasantly surprised how entertaining it was. He loves Tried and True and said he wants to go to it as well!! Im loving that..

    ReplyDelete
  46. Some people just don't get it. I know Clay has never been all that mainstream, but I really do wish more people would admit that the man can sing and perform, and very well I might add. What does Clay have to do to earn respect in the industry? No matter what Clay said, I think RCA really did bungle his career up a little. I just don't see how a man this talented, this giving, this gorgeous (can i tell u how CRAZY it makes me that EVERYONE doesn't GET that!) and wonderful isn't selling out Madison Square Garden or somewhere just like it. I don't care if Clay comes to my old high school to sing, as long as he never stops singing, but when, OH WHEN, will the general public wake up and accept this man?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Clay fans add me on Facebook if you have one please. I have no Clay friends and would love to have some.

  52. Thanks for the updated pictures and videos on a daily basis, Jan. I love the new background picture too. Its nice to see Debra Gibson come out for Clay and Ruben and gave them a good review. Debra graduated from the school where I work.

  53. Checking your site almost daily, especially since Clay has been so busy! Love all the news, the gorgeous pics & the videos. Love today's spotlight quote from Kathy abt the M&G. Just when I thought I couldn't love Clay any more! What a nice guy & a phenomenal performer! Maybe some day, I'll be fortunate to meet him.

  56. I have been watching Clay on You Tube, all of them from AI2 to Timeless tour everyday. It warmed my heart and make me smiled and laughed with his hilarious and entertaining singing. I now have some crush for Clay and adore him. I cannot understand.

If Clay ever go to Indonesia, please come to Malaysia - we have Genting Highlands Resort & Casino where many international singers performed and we are next to Singapore with new Universal Studio in their Sentosa Resort & Casino (more like a themepark not Las Vegas glamor. We have many radio stations, the No. 1 is hitz.fm. Hope one day Clay will tour here.

Thanks so much to this site that gave us everything about Clay and allowed us to have a piece of Clay from overseas. Well done!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Love Clay's hair in Tried & True PBS special. He is much better looking than some of the media pics you see. I had never seen him look like this, although I have always thought he has an amazing talent, great, great voice-too bad he was not given a chance years ago- don't know why

    ReplyDelete
  58. PS to above comment- I just found out about this site when I tried to find more info about Clay Aiken after having seen the Special. WOW, what a lot of info--good for his fans. I am now a bigger one

  60. saw clay aiken in concert 3 weeks ago and it made a "fan" of me-great voice, great to look at, great wit, great show----enjoyed his banter with Rueben Studdard, who also has really good singing voice-But CLAY-wow

    ReplyDelete
  61. I enjoyed the Timeless tour immensely, and I'm missing Clay already. I went to my Clay's first concert, finally saw him live, and I'm even more in love now, LOL! That young man has everything, voice, good looks from the tips of his spiky hair to his toes, stage presence, personality, etc. Want to see him again next year!

  62. I would love to listen to Clay's Tried and True songs on our radio stations. This radio station plays timeless classics and songs of the 80's :-

    www.litefm.com.my
    and www.lightneasyradio.com

Hope we get Clay's songs played here. Thank u.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I hope you get Clay's songs played on your station too. Have you requested any of Clay's recent songs? It couldn't hurt to ask politely if they would play a specific song from the album. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jan, thanks for your kind reply. I just bought T&T Cd & On my way here and loved Clay's down memory lane songs and his touching vocal. Good idea - I will make a request for them to play Clay's songs. A lot of people here are not aware of his Cd as there is lack of publicity here.Being Clay's fan, I will promote him to the best of my ability.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I hope they will play it. Often they won't play a song unless the program director has approved it, but it is always worth a try! Good luck! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  66. yay....Tried & True CD & DVD launched in Indonesia...
Next will be Clay Aiken tour :)

Fan from Malaysia, good if you can promote clay in those radio (btw those radio will fit for Tried & True very well. Those are the radio I listened to when I live in KL years ago).

  67. Hi Puteri, so glad to know a Clay fan from S.E.A. Clay visited to K.L in 2005 for a humanitarian cause. Here is the link to see Clay (in green shirt):
    http://entertainment.msn.com/photos/gallery.aspx?gallery=7573

So excited about your enthusiasm in trying to convince Clay to tour Asia or at least S.E.A. Count me in. Let's work towards it but bear in mind not to stress him out too much (sounds like a mother to him). Hope Clay could tour with Kelly Clarkson to Asia. Kelly had toured here recently and the response was overwhelming.

Puteri, if you want to contact, I can be reached at email: lyc.felicia@gmail.com
Anxiously looking forward to hearing from you. Felicia Low

  72. American Idol is still looking for 2 more Judges. Hope Clay fans will make Clay be one of the Judges. It will be fun to watch AI with Clay around in the show. Hope dream fulfill.Clay Asian Fan

    ReplyDelete
  73. I have one question. Why is Clay always wearing his shirt buttoned all the way up? Is his chest hairy? If so, more reason for him to show off, make him more sexy. Don't you fans agree?

    ReplyDelete
  74. OMG. The above comment makes me roll off my chair.Cheeky but hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  75. whether chest hair is sexy or not is a personal choice-I vote no

    ReplyDelete
  76. Nay, I vote no too. Yes,It's a personal choice and no one can make a choice for him on what he wants as long as he is happy with his choice.

    ReplyDelete
  77. @clay asia fan...
yeaaaa I agree with you, if Clay in AI, at least we can watch him every week. It will fulfill our thirst of him. Another at least :)...
at least before we see him alive in Asia tour :) (still hoping ....).

  78. i am not a rabid fan, but am a fan of clay. maybe if some would stop being so "over the top" then media and radio would not be so determined to keep him out of sight. just a thought

    ReplyDelete
  79. Jan, I have tried many times to make a comment and apparently does not take. Am I doing something wrong ?. Pls Help

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yes, Clay should also tour Asia (China,Japan,Korea,S.E.A.)in the near future with his "Tried and True" and I also like all his songs in "A Thousand Different ways". I think he will come to Asia if Unicef brings him here since he is so passionate and committed in humanitarian works.-Asian fan

  81. I enjoyed reading the funny tweet about her "Mom's Fridge." LOL!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. To Asian fan,
just found out (apologize if everybody already know it)..if we want clay aiken to do concert tour in asia, we can go to Facebook, choose music at your profile, choose artist ilike (off course pick our idol...clay aiken), then choose 'come to my town'.
ask as much friend as you can ... who knows clay can come to asia someday (Ruben will come to indonesia with david foster for Hit Man concert in October..I wish Clay is part of the group...too bad ..it's not :( )

Another one..just sharing, last night in one of radio station in Jakarta, Indonesia, I heard Clay singing when I see you smile ... I am soooo happy... I wish I can have him more in radio stations... :)

    Puteri from Indonesia

    ReplyDelete
  83. Hi Puteri,
I also wish Clay could come to KL Malaysia as part of his Asia tour concert. It would be a great and wonderful idea if David Foster could bring Clay and a few other renowned artists to perform at our Petronas Philharmonic Orchestra Hall (world-class)(I'll be trilled!).This place is very suitable for his classical songs or jazz music.Just a suggestion-how about "Clay and Friends (or David Foster and Friends,of course with Clay inclusive)Classical Asia Tour".Wishing and hoping one day my dream to see Clay in person comes true. - Felicia

  86. Jan, in the "Nice Clay Mentions" category, the
record sales of the Idols reported by NielsenScans has Clay selling only 4,973,000. I
thought He had sold over 6,000,000. If they are
wrong they need to be corrected!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Fountaindawg's comparison photos in the News & Articles site (articles, links & blogs section) are adorable. My favorite? "D" without question. Love, love the picture of him on Idol

  91. In all the years I rode the subway to work, I never saw a celebrity on the train. Oh how I wish I was a passanger on the subway the day these photos were snapped!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Oops, spelled passenger wrong. Shame on me!

    ReplyDelete
  93. I love Clay and I was so proud of him for coming out. Been a fan since AI and loved him even more when he came out. It really shouldn't matter to people but a lot of claymates really took it hard. But now he has bounced back and is unstoppable!

I just want to say though that when Clay was on AI it wasn't cool or acceptable to be different in any way. It was a very different show than it was now. Contestants didn't want to make their personalities stand out more than thier singing. Now it is the "it" thing - the cool thing to be different. (Think Adam Lambert) So when people say negative things about Clay not coming out, how he was lying, its really unfair. It was so different 5+ years ago.

Troubled Water"----Clay right now, has over 6,000 votes but Bon Jovi has over 10,000. Clay
is in 2nd place. I don't know if we can catch Bon Jovi!!!! It'll be hard. I think some are
voting against Clay--How rude if true.

  107. OMG Clay's concerts on video blew my feet and soul away. Thanks Jan for this post and to Toni for the uploads. Cannot be happier than that to watch belched out his melodies. So touching and angelic. Hope he comes to S.E.Asia for concerts in the near future. Thanks. Music fan from S.E.A.

  108. Wow, I just read that article by James Weiner, Manager of the TD Bank Arts Center, regarding Clay's appearance there in 2004 and the "diva" incident with the children. That was way before
my discovering Clay, but I wonder what that was
all about. Can't imagine our Clay behaving that
    way with kids...

    ReplyDelete
  109. I interpereted the situation with James Weiner
as not being Clay's fault at all. The story
was told by the Nat'l Enquirer that it was Clay's fault. Did anyone ever let the Enquirer
    know different!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Also in noting the article in "nice Clay Mentions" about voting for mentors from Idol
using the Alumni. The original was written in
April of this year. Could we not take this voting up again. Clay would make a fantastic
Mentor. Now that Simon is gone and Nigel
Lithgowe is back, Clay might have a chance. He
really liked Clay. Let's talk it up!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  111. I should have known coming from the National Enquirer that it would be a fabricated story. I'm all for Clay being voted for as best mentor considering all that he suffered as a child and teenager, and yet, in spite of it all, grew into such a decent human being with a positive outlook on life.

  115. It was great seeing a photo of Clay at the celebration party for the kick off of Billy Elliot. I just wish Clay were not always referred to as American Idol runner-up. He has accomplished so much since then.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Ditto to what Susan said. The expression,
"Runner-up" is wearing thin. He is a successful super star singer, accomplished actor, song-writer, gifted comedian, and so much more. Just by his appearing at a charity raises thousands of dollars. Runner-up? I don't think so!

    ReplyDelete
  117. So, what does everyone think about Clay's latest blog?

    ReplyDelete
  118. I have the UTMOST RESPECT for Clay Aiken, he is not just a great intertainer he is a man with many MISSIONS to help children enjoy, love, lern and respect them selfs.
I will see him in concert on Feb.11-2011 in Orlando FL.I feel it is a privilege to see him perform.

  119. Hi Jan!
First of all, I've always loved coming to Ideal Idol to get the latest Clay Aiken news, and you really do a great job of running the site! Thank you so much for providing us with years of news, essays, stories, pictures, and videos on the man we all know and love!
Secondly, I just found this on Youtube, and it really deserves to be put under Spotlight Videos so that Clay's message can be spread! Thanks!

  120. does anyone know how sales are for his 2011 tour?

    ReplyDelete
  121. GREAT question...hope they are good so that he does not have to cancel any. Wonder how we can find out those numbers?????

    ReplyDelete
  122. Well, if anything, the article in the Huffington Post is sure derogatory to Clay's fans, but the question itself as to whether Clay would be chosen to dance on the show is interesting. Wonder who he would dance with? (I'd love to see
    him dance with Casey Thompson!)

    ReplyDelete
  123. what did the Huffington Post say?

    ReplyDelete
  124. The article is in News and Articles on the left hand side titled, "Dancing with Clay Aiken?" dated 12/2. (Its purely speculation).

    ReplyDelete
  125. Have there been any Clay sightings lately?

    ReplyDelete
  126. no clay Christmas songs on radio here even tho requested. are they getting radio play anywhere this year or all radio stations still mad at claymates

    ReplyDelete
  127. I heard O Holy Night a couple of times. I was in Walgreens and heard This is the Night. I had to stick around for it to finish. I love hearing his voice. Geri Carchedi

    ReplyDelete
  128. As for Clay sightings, he was sighted recently by a girl who saw him in concert when she was 15.
She said he felt old when she told him that.
She took a picture with him... she plays in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

  129. Thanks for posting the pics of Clay in Dallas...we looks FABULOUS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  130. wish we knew more about where he is living right now and what he is doing other than planning for tour, i.e. what after tour?

    ReplyDelete
  131. I just looked at site after not seeing it for long time. so good to see all the news. What is The Drowsey Chaperone? Did he have a friend in it? Does he have a new "special friend"?

    ReplyDelete
  132. I just love the song "Christmas Wishes" as sung by Anne Murray, one of my favorite singers, and (created by K4Clay2), in the montage of the same name posted on The Ideal Idol. I've never heard that song before and its lovely. I'd love for Clay to record that for his next Christmas CD (if there is one planned). Thanks for posting it for us to enjoy Jan!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Loved the video! K4Clay2 always creates beautiful montages featuring Clay.

I miss Christmas concert Clay. It's been three years dangit.

    ReplyDelete
  134. shame his christmas music is not played on radio

    ReplyDelete
  135. does anyone know where Clay and family are spending Christmas. Hope he has a good holiday.

    ReplyDelete
  136. According to Clay's blog post on Dec. 26, 2010, he is in Canada- presumably with Jaymes Foster and their son- for the holidays. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  137. OOPs! My mistake. He mentioned that it was "Boxing Day" in Canada, but that doesn't mean that he is IN Canada. He talked about snow in Raleigh, so he may be there? Who knows? Not I. Hahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  138. Canada with Fosters sounds about right, I am surprised some crazy blogger didn't make up something crazy about what he did for Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  139. i read somewhere that Clay may have a new "special" person in his life. does anyone have info. I sure hope he does. he deserves hapiness after all the hurtful things thst have been written and said about this talented man

    ReplyDelete
  140. Here is what I was told by music Manager at AC music station in my city. He said "Oh No, here we go again with the claymaniacs calling radio stations again." he went on to say "we know that it is just his same fans calling and emailing over and over again. so we will not play them for that reason..it is annoying" He also said "I know this sentiment is held by most radio stations in the country" so, just thought I would pass this on

    ReplyDelete
  141. I truly hope other AC station prgram managers aren't of like mind with this one. I am sorry he is the one you happened to reach. I really don't believe all program managers are that cynical. At least I hope not.

    ReplyDelete
  142. does anyone know how his sales are for first tour date? good I hope. I will see him in Texas

    ReplyDelete
  143. Just want to wish all you beautiful clay fans a Happy New Year from sunny New Zealand. My wish for 2011 is that Clay will tour downunder.

    ReplyDelete
  144. HAPPY NEW YEAR Clay Fans!
I hope Clay will tour downunder as well as other places besides the US!

    ReplyDelete
  145. Wii Clay cancel any tour stops that do not sell enough tickets? Has anyone heard anything about sales?

    ReplyDelete
  146. Clay indicated in his last blog that more ticket sales are needed. I do not know whether or not shows will be canceled if not many tickets are sold. I certainly hope they won't.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Does anyone know if Clay's radio play has increased since calls are being made?

    ReplyDelete
  148. I am so worried about tour ticket sales.....

    ReplyDelete
  149. late new year wish... but better late than never.
happy new year for everybody here... may 2011 will become an amazing year for everybody.

another wish .. if Clay goes down under, he certainly will pass Asia.. wish he would like to stop by for tour ... especially in Jakarta :)

    ReplyDelete
  151. I've just been watching all my Clay videos ranging from Atlanta auditions to the Clay/Bing duet to all the newer ones. ALOT of videos! I couldn't help but smile the whole time I was watching and listening. I re-watched all the Jaded Journalist interviews and laughed so hard. I love Clay on a much deeper level than he could ever imagine. I wish more people could appreciate his talent and his warm heart.

    ReplyDelete
  154. He is so entertaining in concert-anyone know how sales are for 1st show of his tour?

    ReplyDelete
  155. OMG--heard Unchained Melody on radio today. WONDERS never cease. How, oh how, does this guy's talent go so unnoticed?????

    ReplyDelete
  156. I am, and always have been, a BIG fan of Clay. I, however, think Simon would have said he was yelling the Star Spangled Banner at NHL game. Too bad this is what people will hear, because he is so good otherwise. I still love him, just trying to be objective.

    ReplyDelete
  157. He nailed the SSB.It almost made me cry. It was so emotional. God Bless the USA. The announcer said it best "IMPRESSIVE".

    ReplyDelete
  158. It sounded to me as if Clay was singing the Star Spangled Banner with the passion of a man who loves his country. Everyone I have spoken to about it thought he did a great job. I suppose he could have sung it softly, but this was an arena- made for noise and crowds and passion. To MY ear, Clay sang it with passion.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I know Clay said that he wasn't dropped from his label, but now I'm kind of worried. He wasn't exactly clear about the situation either. I hope everything is alright. I wish he could get more publicity for his albums. It would be great if he could work with someone like Barry Manilow and his group of songwriters. They could write him some great songs and would let his voice shine.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I, too, have wondered why noone ever wrote a song for him. Hopefully, a more upbeat song

    ReplyDelete
  161. Sometimes it is frustrating to be a Clay fan. Some days I just don't want to be one. I know that may sound odd but it's the best way I can explain it. I wish he could get something good going in his career. I don't understand how someone who sings so well isn't the number one superstar in the world. It is SO frustrating. It makes me want to pull my hair out.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Rachel Lee, I too, question the same thing "How does someone sing so well and not be a superstar. Are we all so wrong. I don't think so, it has got to be something far more than we realize. And Decca dropping him, is that
a fact or rumor and WHY,WHY,WHY. It,s just not
    fair!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  163. He was not "dropped" from Decca. He stated that it was never a long term record deal. Some artists have a project to project type of deal. I think that is what he has. I don't necessarily mind if he isn't thinking of recording any time soon. As long as he does his live shows and keeps on singing, I'm fine with it. None of his albums have blown me away, but EVERY time he performs live he ABSOLUTELY blows me away. The songs and the way he sounds on albums are compltely controlled by the producers. I think the last album I really loved was Merry Christmas with Love. Guess who was a producer...Jaymes Foster. Clay needs some good direction from someone that has been around and maintained a long successful career. As I stated earlier I wish he could get together with Barry Manilow to work on some new stuff when he gets ready. Or someone like Reba McEntire and her people.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I think the fact that "radio people" got annoyed with him in the beginning was the reason his career did not take off. That coupled with Who chose the songs for release. The idea of picking "On My Way Here" instead of Ashes" or "Everything I Don't Need"---Wow, how dumb was that? Just one of many missteps in his career. Without radio, not enough people hear his voice (that are not already fans), for his singles to become hits.i.e.,Invisable. Hope he makes it. He is talented,no question

    ReplyDelete
  165. ^^You are right about those things. I also blame Clive Davis and RCA for not promoting him enough in the early days. I don't think Clive Davis wanted Clay on his label from the get-go. Clay just needs a good management team I think. Or maybe I'm wrong and Clay isn't too worried about all this. Maybe he is doing just what he wants to do and is very happy with his life and is spending time with Parker and loving it. I hope so.

I always forget that not everyone has heard Clay sing. A lot of people may know who he is, but that could be from bad press or just know him from coming out. It's funny, I expect everyone to be as thrilled with him as I am. Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  166. it is a shame that one of his performances of something unexpected and good from a concert does not get on Youtube. Most people do not know how good he can do "peppy" songs or "light rock" or lots of the stuff he did on clay/rueben tour, for instance. Aside from us (tried and true fans), most people do not hear his voice enough to even recognize it since it has not been on radio in years and only know wierd stuff that has been written about him on a "regular" basis. It is frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  167. anyone who saw 1st show of tour--Was it just "wonderful" or was it "fantastic"????wish I had been there.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Jennifer..I'd say from the Clack that I saw, its WONDERFULLY FATASTIC! i LOVE clay with all my heart and soul!!!

    ReplyDelete
  169. can someone at a concert get his attention and tell him to take-off those unflattering sweaters, change that strange hairdo and stop those sleepy, sleepy songs. Give us back the sexy Clay in shirt tucked into cute jeans, longer hair, songs with some pep (and more up to date). Lets go back to Measure of a Man and On My Way Here. I have always loved his music, but not this last album. Saw concert he did with Rueben and loved his style, look, voice, everything....Even my friend who was with me (never liked him) said "he is good-looking"...thanks, however for pics and videos of the first concerts of this tour...I just want the Clay that I loved all these years back

    ReplyDelete
  170. kind of agree with anonymous said above.thumbs up for you..
I am a bit tired of spiky, hair ..he looks more gorgeus in the picture of OMWH, ATDW or when he actively promoting T&T in CNN, The View etc. His hair was so nice in Popeater pictures, he looked very stunning & more classy with that hair style.
Anybody can tell him & his TC please ....

    ***Puteri

    ReplyDelete
  171. YAY--someone who loves him feels it is OK to say "clay, get a stylist, Get someone who can be honest with you about what looks best (and you don't have to go far from your comfort zone), but STEP it up.....Also someone to advise about songs- the old ones are fine, but pep it up a little. Even Frank and the rest of the old guys didn't sing that slow and serious. Clay is such a talented singer, he needs to do something pretty quick. I have seen him in concert a few years ago and do know how entertaining he is, BUT, gotta get attention from some new fans. I, too, do not like this last album. I keep hoping the right person or persons can set him on the right path. I think just a few tweeks here and there. Need him to look back at first two albums and see what people loved. I know I may not sound like it, BUT, I am a HUGH fan of his.....

    ReplyDelete
  172. YES< YES< YES the hair is downright annoying. the clothes lok like he lazy AND those old songs!!!! I just don't care for it, but I do love him and his voice, Wish he had the right people pushing him to TRY and be a star because he should be with all that talent. Maybe, one day. Have my fingers crossed.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Personally, I like the sort of nerdy Mr Rogers clothes and spiky, unkempt hair.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I am trying to say what I think he needs to become a STAR, not what is comfortable to his loyal fans. Clay has GOT to get some GOOD attention soon for his continued success---EXCEPT in concert, he needs to talk less. People who want to dislike him, always take what he says "out of context". He needs to work HARD, HARD to get on Jimmy Kimmel and sing ASHES, Bridge over Troubled Water, Invisible. anything but Tried and True. Got to remind People of the Clay who can sing anything and "make it his own" (to use AI saying) Please don't take me wrong---I, SO MUCH, waNT cLAY TO REMAIN IN THE SPOTLIGHT FOREVER.

    ReplyDelete
  175. i WORRY ABOUT ALL THAT STUFF (CLOTHES, HAIR, SONG CHOICES, ETC) BUT RIGHT NOW, I AM EXTREMELY WORRIED ABOUT TICKET SALES--DOES ANYONE KNOW STATUS? ENOUGH TO KEEP CONCERT GOING? Hope so!!!

    ReplyDelete
  176. What has he said that people have taken out of context? I am not challenging you in any way, just wondering what you are talking about. Yes, of course he needs some good press, but I don't think he should change himself right now if he is comfortable being the way he is. People who dislike him either dislike his singing and maybe personality, or just put him down to feel good about themselves. Why should Clay sell out and try to be what those people accept to be normal? Clay has always been considered nerdy and this look and what he is singing is no different from him singing those old songs on American Idol. Clay was not represented well by RCA and that has alot to do with his status right now, even if it is almost 7 years later. Clay has a Mr. Rogers/Barry Manilow quality about him and people just don't know what to do with him. A lot of his past success was because he was right off of one of the biggest shows in American television history. Of course his fame has settled. It has been many years since that show. We can't expect him to keep that level of pop fame. The reason Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler are as popular as they are is because they chose to go into country music. Country music is historically more friendly than pop and rock music. There is less competition in that genre. I know Clay has a great talent, but we can't forget that most others from American Idol haven't been as successful as they once were right after Idol. It is a normal, show business decline. I don't expect Clay to become huge again like he once was. It may never happen, and I'm going to have to accept that no matter how much it hurts.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I mean, He said "I am not gay", which gave people reason to laugh. He always says I don't watch American Idol" and then comments about something about it. i.e. Adam Lambert, (which annoyed a lot of people) He could just say "I think American Idol is great and will always be around" period. those kind of things are what I am talking about, I do agree with you on everything else you said, except...He did sing those songs on American Idol, but with a more modern style and a little pep. These bore me. I love his voice, but I CAN'T listen to one of them all the way through. I do wish him well, but guess I just need to move on. makes me sad

    ReplyDelete
  178. He told Diane Sawyer he wasn't gay because he had not yet told his mother. It wasn't anyones business and he was tired of everyone asking. You don't have to watch American Idol to comment on Glamberace lol. Just because he says he doesn't watch it one day doesn't mean he won't watch one episode next week. He shouldn't have to correct himself. I do agree that Tried and True had some boring songs. I wasn't born when these songs came out and I am not attached to them whatsoever. He does need a little pep. He is not part of the rat pack lol. When I said I didnt expect him to become huge like he once was is because I don't want to be hurt like I have been before. Clay is a huge talent and I think with the right MANAGEMENT TEAM (hello clay can't u think of this) he would go far. He is a good person and things usually come around to smart, level headed good people. I don't want to expect the worst though so I am going to say that I am hoping for a turnaround and expect the best for Clay. Negative thoughts are out of my mind now. I believe in Clay and I am not going there anymore, no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  179. to Rachel: OMG, someone sent me pictures taken at Cobb Energy Centre by Robb Cohen. They were gorgeous. He looked fantastic. sweater..and even hair!!!!!!!! (change since Miami tho) I don't mean to sound negative, just frustrated. You are probably right-good things come to those who wait...SO, patience. Michelle!!!! thanks for calling me on that. GO clay

    ReplyDelete
  180. can the next person who gets a meet and greet ask Clay what is the little thing he does 10 or 12 times during a song with his face (sorta sqweenching up his nose)? habit or just needs to do it to hit some notes. Now, of course, I think anything he does is cute. just curious. He especially does it while singing UM. He is a doll, though.

    ReplyDelete
  181. it isn't easy to sing and hit notes the way he does. especially for a man. I think its half habit, half a 'hard to hit that note' face if that makes any sense LOL. i don't think its a new thing lol.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Michelle is it possible to send me those pictures or send me a link to them?

    ReplyDelete
  183. MICHELLE ^^^^ OMMMGGG I just watched clack from the Atlanta concert and OMGG you are right Clay looks FANTASTIC!! It seems he got a haircut?? or someone styled it different?? I don't know but I am listening to Misty right now and I am dying here. I know you said they were boring songs and I agree but u HAVE to watch these videos from Atlanta. I have been watching them full screen and hitting PrntScrn and making beautiful wallpapers from the performance. WOW. WOW. WOW. He is so BEAUTIFUL!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  184. Thank you Jan for posting clack by MBlovesClay
    of Clay singing In My Life. Absolutely flawless and mesmerizing. The banter was like old times;
Clay joking with a fan who was on the phone and
saying hi to her friend. Im so looking forward to the 26th when I meet Clay at the M&G and then
sitting in the audience for the concert.

    ReplyDelete
  185. I, too, would like to thank you for "banter" video. ADORABLE. he is!!!!!!!! LOVE his new hair style. YAY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  186. wow, finally found a site where all Clay Aiken fans talk to each other. I was a hugh fan of Clay aiken during American Idol, voted, etc. I saw him in concert a few times after that, when he was near and loved him. I convinced some of my friend to go to concert with me last night, telling them that they would not believe how he could dance and sing any kind of music, etc. I felt bad. They were so bored and do not see what I was talking about, except for the voice and that he is cuter than they expected. Now I know some of you more loyal fans probably have chance to talk to him at fundraisers (which I always contribute to) and other things. PLEASE tell him--THIS is not GOOD for his career. He still has the "entertainer" element, but those songs------------B-O-R-I-N-G. I will always remember the Clay of a few years ago though

    ReplyDelete
  187. We all miss the pep in his step Annalise! LOL! I think he will come up with something in that snarky head of his pretty soon. My friends have all made fun of Clay and me too but they do agree that his voice is flawless and he is quite handsome now. I don't understand why everyone isn't amazed with him. Makes NO sense to me!!!

  191. I just saw videos of his Waterbury concert. What a treat. Loved seeing him do his old songs. Wish he would go back to those types of songs LOVE IT. He is Fantastic in whatever he does, however.

    ReplyDelete
  192. I saw Clay in Waterbury, he was so good. He was fun, songs flawless. I don't get it when people say he is boring. He as such a lovely voice. He not boring in the least. I wish he would use his lower register more, but I do love the glory notes. Ashes and Everything I Don't Need should have been on the radio. Shame on the radio stations for not supporting Clay. He has one of the best voices out there and he should be commended. Just Me. Geri

    ReplyDelete
  193. I am mad at Clay (I love him tho) for not singing ASHES and EVERYTHING I DON'T NEED all the time Not enough people heard them to see how he sounds doing those kinds of songs. They are great. I think a whole group of new people would have taken notice. He, however, seems to be mad at those two songs. can't stay mad at him.....

  198. I am a new fan. some one at concert sent me to this site, Saw his concert and was wowed. His is cute, u-funny, etc, but can HE sing! As I sat there watching him, I couldn't help but e baffled about all the fascination of whether or not he was gay. Very strange, indeed. He just seemed like a normal (very good entertainer to me. I am 26, so maybe I feel diferent about people's right to privacy about sexual preferences. No one ever asks me about mine, so, why his? guess we can't figure that out. sorry, I waited so long to check him out in person
